Component editing on schematics

I guess I am used to Protel and have only just started with Eagle. Using

Eagle, when I "add" a component such as a resistor to a schematic from the

library, I sometimes want to hide the name and/or the value to avoid

clutter. I sometimes might want to just move these to a different spot to

avoid overwriting other text. I cannot find a way to do any of these actions

which I am used to doing in Protel. Is there a way that actions such as

these can be done.

    Use the SMASH command to detach the texts form the part. Now you

    can move/change them as you like. To hide one of the texts use

    DELETE.

    DELETE on the other text works like unSmash.
