Mounting Plated Through Holes

Hello!

See attached file that goes with the following message.

I used the VIA function to make four (4) mounting plated through hole

connected to ground. I renamed the VIA's to GND. The polygon (pour function)

also called GND.

My question is : "Is it the right appproach to do such thing?" ... In the

Library "Holes" the mounting holes are producing isolated mounting holes and

I want grounded holes.

Thank you for your help.

Regards,

RJ

That approach seems fine to me, as long as you keep solder mask off your

    vias.

What I do is to make a very simple library part, consisting of a single pad

with the drill size and diameter I want for my mounting holes.  I add as

many of these to my schematic as I need for the board.  The advantage of

this is that the schematic shows the mounting holes and what net they

connect to.  It also ensures there won't be any solder mask over the

mounting hole pads, regardless of whether you want solder mask on your vias

    or not.
