Eagle 5.0.0 crashes randomly in WinXP

Sometimes BIOS updates fix a lot of things. Check if you have the latest

BIOS.

Recently one of my systems (using Asus P5N-D) was acting up so I

suspected the memory and replaced with crucial ballistix. Problem

remained and crashes kept coming back. Thought that the motherboard is

bad. BIOS update fixed it and it is now stable.

New update.  I have been running with Beta version 5.1.3 for several days

with no crashes.  My only concern right now is that I am using a Beta

version to fiinish my production boards which I need to order on Monday.  I

have no choice though unless a release comes out before then, my customers

don't much care why a project is behind, just that it's late.

Thanks for all of the suggestions, even though this had nothing to do with

my hardware, it's good to verify that end once and awhile anyway.

I downloaded and installed 5.2 after having no issues with the Beta 5.1.3

version.  I now get the following error.

Application Error: Eagle: Eagle.exe

The instruction at 0x77c2b9b5 referenced memory at "0x00000004".  The memory

cannot be written.

I run Memtest all night with no memory problems.  I realize that is somewhat

foolish as I did not have this happen with the Beta 5.1.3 so it is obviously

a version issue, but I wanted to be sure.

I tested creating a new part in a library, but nothing bad happened.

Does it happen only with one particular library, or with any library?

It always happens when I'm creating a new part in a library.  Most of the

time when I put in the new name of the part in the dialog box.  It either

crashes there when I hit enter, or it waits until I hit Yes in the following

box.  I'll pay closer attention next time.
