Can't add components (the component list empty)

For some reason, when I'm trying to add a new component to a schematic, using the ADD function, the component list is empty, as shown in the attached screen shot. Searching for a component doesn't work either. It's as if the dialog box is dead. The library seems to exist just fine, and I can even drag and drop components from the control panel window. What could be wrong?

 

I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.6 and I just updated to Eagle 5.11 (the latest version as of posting this) to see if that would solve the problem, which it obviously didn't since I'm posting this.

    Hi,

     

    In the Control Panel window if you right-click the library name you can

    see that there is an option "Use All". If a library is used you will see

    a "green ball" after its name.
