Email is rejected by cadsoftusa.com

Help!  I can't buy EAGLE because cadsoftusa.com is rejecting every email

I send it.

It appears as if the email server is doing a reverse dns lookup and

expecting to return the same domain name as the sender.  This will never

be the case if your company has an internal email server and uses a

business internet provider such as Comcast for Internet connectivity.

For this case they should look up the MX record(s) for the domain name

of the sender and verify that the ip address matches the source of the

email?

I'm sure you are rejecting quite a few potential customers!

Thanks,

    Tom Sneddon

Nevermind, from your news posting's header I found your posting host's

IP number , which lead me to the following log entry of

    our mail server:

       Jul  8 19:42:54 raven sendmail[8507]: ruleset=check_relay, arg1=[75.145.144.70], arg2=75.145.144.70, relay=75-145-144-70-Illinois.hfc.comcastbusiness.net (may be forged), reject=550 5.7.1 Possibly forged hostname for 75.145.144.70

    So, nslookup 75.145.144.70 results in

       70.144.145.75.in-addr.arpa      name = 75-145-144-70-Illinois.hfc.comcastbusiness.net.

    but nslookup 75-145-144-70-Illinois.hfc.comcastbusiness.net gives

      • server can't find 75-145-144-70-Illinois.hfc.comcastbusiness.net: NXDOMAIN

So it's not the reverse DNS entry that's the problem, it's the

    missing forward entry.

You may want to contact your ISP about this.

BTW: please note that our US office is closed for summer vacation until July 11.

    Klauss,

    Thanks for the quick response.

I tried to email you, but of course it bounced.

I will contact Comcast and get this resolved.

    Thanks,

    Tom;

I called CadSoft's USA office to upgrade EAGLE, and was told by an

answering machine that CadSoft is on vacation and won't be back until

    next week (14th).

    Hi Dave and Tom,

If you're in North America you can start the process via my website (below).

I still need CadSoft to process the license proper but you may appreciate

the online purchasing process.  This is for both new licenses and upgrades.

The office is closed for the week so perhaps their email is overflowing.

    Cheers,

    James.
