How do I disable the Autorouter?

I am using the free version of Eagle to design a small dense board.

 

I am hand-routing the PCB, and using the DRC check frequently to check clearances.

 

I've twice accidentally hit the 'Auto'-route button in the last couple of hours.

The autorouter creates a mess, and so I waste time unpicking the tracks it makes.

 

I'd like to keep my workflow smooth and streamlined, so I'd prefer not to have to explicitly do a save every time I am about to click DRC.

How do I disable the autorouter? I'd like to disable the autorouter forever unless I explicitly enable it (e.g. a global preference), or disable for the project.

 

PS - Undo after autoroute would be a very useful feature.

    As a workaround, when you want to do a DRC do it from the command line.

      That's a good distance away from the autorouter, and 'drc' is a lot

    different from 'auto'.
