Hello,
For EAGLE to become more accepted into the professional ranks, it is
important that it is easy to share EAGLE files from customer to design
house. One thing that is really frustrating is that the colour palette is
not stored in the board file. So if I use a custom colour palette (i.e. The
colours above index 16) when my customer gets them it just looks black (or
maybe all grey with the new defaults in EAGLE 5, haven't check if that was
implemented as discussed).
Why not just simply treat the colour palette like any other setting that
goes through the GUI. For example, the DRC settings are set and stored in
the PCB. You use the local copy until you load/change a new set using the
GUI. Please treat the colour palette the same.
This has always been a required feature, but now with EAGLE 5 even more so.
I don't like the colour palette that is by default, I need to change it to
work efficiently. Also, my boards are often more than 6 layers so I need
the colour differences to be more subtle to allow for more layers.
So please, please, incorporate this as soon as possible.
Cheers,
James.
