Rename vias in ULP

Hi

 

is it possible within a ULP to rename vias?

I have the following situation, I have an RF board with polygons on 3 layers and several hundred vias linking these together.  The polygons all have the same name but the vias all have  diffrent names, i do not like the prospect of going throuch the NAME gui close on a thousand times.

I have tried NAME S$11 g in the command line (where S$11 is the name of a via as shown by the name dialogue) - this returns "unknown element: S$11 "

    that is a bit contradictory. If the vias all have different names,

    they are most likely not linked to any signal and therefore not

    connected to any of your polygons.

    But that is probably the reason you want to change the names of the

    vias 8-)

     

     

    you should have used the "via 'signal name' ..." variant of the via

    command when you placed the vias in the first place.

     

     

    for changing the names after the fact you will have to resort to the

    methode Chuck already described.

    Find the netnames used in the scematics, group any via that has a name not

    in this entity and rename them. This is esy to do in an ulp, but unless

    your board is huge or you need some ulp exercise I would just rename each

    one.
