Is it possible to modify an SMT pad to look like the one attached? If so,

how is that done?

Your picture just shows a plain rectangular pad. You can make such pads

easily. In the package editor of the library place an SMD of any size

and then use the CHANGE SMD command to alter the size. When you type

that command you get a drop-down menu with the preset sizes listed, and

at the bottom, a line with three dots. Choose this and you are given a

window where you can insert the dimensions you require. Maximum value of

    either x or y is 0.516024"

    Thanks John,

Take a look at the pad again, it has (8) sides not (4).

    Sorry.

It looked more like a rectangle with a shaded edge in my picture viewer.

If you are talking the black C shape that is not possible without DRC

errors in  4.1x. You could use 3 rectangular pads but DRC will flag it

with pad to pad distance error.

Named copper is not allowed in the lib parts. You can adjust the solder

stop mask to any shape and use a larger rectangular pad with no stop

active.  Or make the correct shape stop mask and add a named polygon to

the board after placing the part.

Named Polygons in lib's is a frequently requested suggestion.
