Errors in Gerber Data

Former Member

Hi,

I have just started using Eagle and am evaluating the Freeium version. It was all going good until I finished my test design and tried to generate some gerber files. I used the Spark Fun CAM set-up and it created the gerbners just fine. The problem was when I checked the output using an online gerber viewer.

When checked I noticed that I was getting big gaps in my top side plane (which is a +5V plane) and whatever setting I seem to use I can't get rid of it. I have attached a picture with the eagle .brd file on the left and the gerber data when viewed with an online gerber view on the right.

Does anyone know ehat is going on?

I'm guessing you are using Version 6.0, as you haven't said which version of

    Eagle you are using.

Version 6.0 has Gerber polygon issues.  Move to Version 6.1

    Hi,

    Thanks for the reply.

I am using Version 6.1.0 for Windows - does this have issues as well? I think it is the latest release?

    V6 has numerous issues.

There is a 6.1.1 beta available. Have a look at the 'eagle.betatest' forum

to see the list of fixes it contains.

The betatest forum is where many people report issues so a read through

there, as well as 'eagle.supprt.eng',  keeps you up to date with issues

    being found.

    Hi,

Thanks. I downloaded V6.1.1 and I still get the same problem. I have tried moving components, renaming the polygons, drawing in fresh polygons, changing the shape of the poygons and trying only 1 polygon per layer. Nothing worked and I still get the same gaps in the same places.

    Very annoying...

    Eureka!

I think I found the problem. I turned off the 'poc Coord' tick box in the CAM settings and all the gerbers were created OK.

So my next question is what does this option do?

Assuming 'pos.Coords' see the manual section 'Preparing Manufacturing Data'

    / 'Set Output Parameters'.

I feel you have found a bug that needs attention.
