How to load Eagle 6 onto two computers

I've used Eagle since the DOS days but I'm having to ask you guys what must seem like an idiot question because CadSoft's technical support doesn't bother to answer my emails.

 

A few weeks ago I paid for an upgrade to 6.2.0 and loaded it onto my laptop and downloaded the key.  When I got home I loaded 6.2.0 onto my main computer and tried to download the key but the page told me no key was available (a one time download?) So I tried to copy the key from my laptop but that doesn't work; it just doesn't appear during the license setup sequence.

 

Meanwhile I had worked on important existing files which I now cannot open on Eagle 5 so I am well and truely stuffed!

 

So how can I get my PC upgraded to 6.2.0 and given my experiences what is going to happen when I upgrade my computers shortly and want to port the program over?

 

Can someone help me?

    Thanks James, that certainly makes sense.  I've got the installation code but not the unused key.  I bought the upgrade online from CADSOFT Germany and nowhere in their installation letter do they mention keeping a copy of the key so your advice is good advice.

     

    I've now got to somehow get another copy of the key from them
