BUG in v 6.3.0 : nets don't always connect - animated GIF to demonstrate (Eagle v6.3.0 Pro)

Hello CadSoft (and the community),

I believe I have found a bug in the schematic editor (version 6.3.0). Please see this animated gif which demonstrates a problem we have encountered with the schematic editor. Please note all items are perfectly on grid.

When moving a device onto an drawn net, the connection is made (CORRECT!)

- HOWEVER -

When moving a net onto a device, the connection is *not* made (BUG?)

I really hope somebody from CadSoft can't comment on this behavior - and whether it is intentional. We are not used to this - because other editors (eg. simulation software such as LTSpice) properly make the connection.

Thanks!

Not a bug. This is just how it has always been with Eagle. You get used

    to it fairly quickly.

    Cheers,

    Rob

I just read about that recently - I thought it was in the V6 tutorial, but

I can't find it now.  I do remember reading though that the operation was

    not symmetrical.

OK, found the statement I was looking for - see page 38 of the version 6.3

tutorial from Cadsoft - it says next to the "Move" Icon -

"No electrical connection will be generated if you MOVE a net line over a

    pin.

On the other hand: if you move a pin over another pin or over a net line,

    an

electrical connection will be generated, and a net line will be attached to

    the

pin when the component is moved further. Remember the UNDO command if

you want to detach the net line."

Hi Guys, thank you for your replies. So this is not a bug. I was afraid somebody might say that. Can anybody think of a single decent justification for this? Just trying to wrap my head around why this is so...

Should I bother submitting a feature request, or just pipe-down and live with it?
