How to use existing library parts for a new library item

Hi Rob,

I hope you're doing well, we generally recommend that users copy

existing parts from EAGLE's libraries into there own libraries. There

are several ways to do this, I'll describe the one I find easiest.

1. You need to know what library and what part within that library you

wish to copy.

2. Open the destination library(the one you want to copy to) or create a

new library.

3. Keep the library open, from this point on we will not open any

additional libraries we will only expand trees in the control panel.

4. In the EAGLE control panel, expand the libraries tree and find the

library that contains the part you wish to copy.

5. Expand the library and find the component you want to copy.

6. Right-click on the component you want to copy and select copy to library.

Voila the part has been copied to the open library.

Is there a simialr way to do this if I am trying to duplicate a part in the

same library?
