Newbie question : "Supply pin VCC overwritten with more than one signal"

Hi,

I have a board with some components that all have a "VCC" pin. However some componets are 3.3v and some 5v. When I connect the VCC pins to the 5v or 3.3v supplies I get asked if I want to rename the resultant net. I answered to rename them to "3.3v" and "5v" which made sense and are the names of my power supply nets.

However when I run the rules checker I get an error. IIUIC it thinks the "VCC" net has both 5v and 3.3v connections ?

How do I get round this and have mixed 3.3v and 5v VCC pins ?

try putting the 5V in parenthases.

I could not find in the manual any mention of the use of parentheses on
supply signals. Can you explain what this does, or perhaps refer me to
a section in the manual?
