Eagle Dimension and Clearance

A guess is you just added a via and did not connect it to the net.

If you need a test point or test pad add it to the sch.

The fix is to name the via the net name you want it to connect to.

@ Paul. So this error is only acutally to do with the net/names whatever. Not acually to do with a physical error on the baord which will affect when getting made?

It's to do with you abusing Eagle in a way you shouldn't. You said the

error is "on near enough every via ive made ontop of traces to allow for

my capcitors", but that wording tells me you've omitted those VITAL

COMPONENTS from the schematic! If you'd designed the schematic right you

wouldn't be adding vias - there would be the correct components,

complete with pads, correctly connected to the right nets, ALREADY THERE

and without any such errors.

Thanks Rob, I understand its a error on eagle but would it acctaully result in a phical error once the board is prinited?

My componets and pads are all fine on the shematic but im not sure if I should add via's on the shematic? Could you take this example and explain how you would go about adding a via;

All analog potemeters traced to a pin header on the shematic. But then I need to add a capcitor between pinheader 1 & 2 on the traces. I was under the understanding that this wouldnt be done in the shematic and its to do with the traces on the board which you need to lay down first before being able to place a via ontop.

Hi Matt,

All components (i.e. the capacitor in this case) are placed on the schematic. It's a logical representation, like a metro/tube map. While working on the

schematic, keep the board view open, but don't do anything with it.

Once you are satisfied it is correct, then work on the board which is the physical view. You can drag the capacitor close to the pin header on the board view.

All this is explained in the EAGLE manual (chapter 6,"From Schematic to Finished Board").
