How to display complete net (multiple sheets) in Schematic editor

guido36
guido36 over 12 years ago

Hello,

I was wondering if it is possible to display (or highlight) the complete net (on multiple sheets) in the schematic editor?

To explain this in more detail, I can tell how this worked in another tool I worked with:

- Open a schematic with multiple sheets.

- Select a net that is used on several sheets.

- The schematic editor showed in a dropdown box (which contains all the sheets) all the sheets which contains that particulair net in bold.

- When selecting these sheets, the selected net stayed highlighted.

Does this function also exist in Eagle (I am using Eagle 6.4.0)?

Now I am searching all the sheets to check were this net appears (with a bit of help with the cross reference labels).

Thanks,

Guido

This can be done with my ULP 'find':

      - Either type, e.g. 'run find n$2' into the command line

      - or type 'run find' to display a dialog box.

If a net is only available on ONE sheet, it is shown and highlighted. If

a net is distributed over several sheets, you get the corresponding list

    of sheets you desire.

The ULP can also find parts, gates, elements, nets, signals, busses,

    classes, mathematical values (e.g. '1k1' also finds '1100', '1.1k',

    etc.), packages, devices,...

If you're interested in the ULP, I can send it to you.

    Thank you for the responses.

Andreas, I am very intrested in your ULP "find".

I am quite new here, can you tell me how I can give you my email address without writing it down in this post?

I tried already to mail you via this forum but I couldn't find your name in the member list.

You can reply to my personal e-mail address, which is the one under

which I write my posts. You should be able to see it in the FROM field

of all my messages, or here:

    Cheers,

That crappy web interface at element 14 doesn't even show the FROM

    content...

Ah, I was already wondering.... I now

      - tried to look at the web interface,

      - couldn't find it from the Farnell site,

      - tried it from the CadSoft site,

      - found it there, clicked and

      - nothing happened but an error message 'nothing found'.

This was shown for ALL forums.

It appears that either the element14 links on the CadSoft site are

broken, or that something else is amiss...

From the web sites, it is pretty well hidden indeed. At element14.com,

you need to select "the knode", then "Forums", then "CadSoft EAGLE",

then the appropriate group. It's really hard to make it worse.

But try the link in the footer of Guidos post.
