I have a 4 layer board that will have a large half inch hole drilled
through it for connector/wire pass through. I have not placed a 'hole'
there because it is too large for the board house' I'll drill it myself.
I've drawn circles in the tRestrict, bRestrict and vRestrict layers to
keep traces out of the hole area. The GND layer is a pologon named GND
and grounds route around the hole fine.
The first few times I auto routed the board the restrict circles were
respected - no traces were placed inside them. After working with the
board for a while the auto router now places traces and vias inside the
restrict circles.
I haven't changed the circles or layer definitions, just added parts and
moved things around. It's a pretty dense board and routing is done in
top, bottom and vcc layers to get everything connected.
So I'm guessing either I've messed up some other parameter that turns
off the effect of the restrict circles or perhaps the board cannot be
routed without violating them??
Any thoughts appreciated.
