How do I remove layers from the display/route list?

I have the Pro version of EAGLE, both v4.16r2 and v5.3.0.  Lately I've

been working on 2 layers boards (layers 1 and 16),  but the display

list of layers always includes layers 2 - 15.  When I manually route a

trace, layers 2 - 15 are also displayed, so I have to ignore the extra

layers in the list.  In DRC/Layers, I have (1*16), so why do I see

these superfluous layers?  EAGLE won't let me delete internal layers,

so what do I do?

    I have the same 'problem', never seen it as a problem though...

    mylayers.scr does not list 2-15 and the DRC is (1*16)...

     

    Set Used_Layers 1  16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 \

                    31 32 33 34 35 36 37 38 39 40 41 42 43 44 45 46 \

                    47 48 49 50 51 52   91 92 93 94 95 96;

    DISPLAY NONE 1 16 17 21;

    You could modify your layer setup and then set it back to the

    original setup.

    For example, change your (116) to (12*16), click "Apply", revert

    it to (1*16) again, click OK.

    Now only 1 and 16 should be visible in the DISPLAY list.
