Adding LMC7101 Op Amp To Schematic

Former Member

Hi guys,

This is my first ever post on these forums and i've only been registered for 10 minutes so i apologize in advance for any nooby question i may ask. I'm fairly new with the EAGLE software as i've only seen some tutorials and played around a little bit with its functionalities. I'm yet to do anything more serious but that's what I intend to do in time.

So my question. I'm trying to design a schematic of a circuit I have already implemented on a breadboard but I can't seem to find one of the components I need in the libraries, a LMC7101 op amp. I've done a quick search here in the forums but I've come up short although I could have missed something. I also did a google search but again I came up short. So what I want to ask is: is there anyway to include this component in my EAGLE software (version 5.3.0 btw) so I can use it? Like adding extra libraries?

My final goal is to design a PCB with several of these op amps so I really to include it in my schematics.

Regards,

Miguel

Depending on the details of that part, it may well be sufficient to use

one of the generic op-amps in the linear library. However...

Of course. It wouldn't be much use if you couldn't.

Surely you must have come across a tutorial (such as the one in the

Eagle documentation supplied with the software) on creating library

parts? For your purposes you probably want to start by copying an

existing op-amp (e.g. from linear.lbr) into your new library, then copy

in the required package from ref-packages.lbr if necessary. You may need

to tweak the symbol a bit, but probably all you need then is to make a

device (add symbol and package, set pin-outs).

This is actually a nice easy introduction to an important part of using

Eagle (or any PCB CAD tool, actually).

    HTH,

    Rob
