How can I create an Edge pin PCB to mate to a Foxconn Connector?

japper
japper over 11 years ago

I have a project where I need to design a PCB with the edge pins that are
compatible with a Foxconn AS0B326-S55N-7F or Foxconn AS0B326-S78N-7F connector.

Are there any libraries for the Foxconn parts menitoned above and how are edge pins created in the
Eaglecad schematic/layout tools?

Are the PCB edge pins typically also a library type part like the mating connector?

Thanks

    Have a look in con-pc.lbr

The will give you a good idea how to create a PCB edge connector

    All the best

    Thanks Warren-

I actually found a QSeven library on this site late yesterday that has the whole board outline

so I am a happy camper now.

The Q7 library on the EagleCad library site only had a library part that allowed for the mating connector and outline

of the Q7 board to be added to a carrier type PCB.

I took that and modified it into a library part within its own library for the actual Q7 pcb with edge fingers.

I will consider uploading it after I receive my PCB next week and have an opportunity to verify that it is good to go as I am new

to making library parts and not sure how to add this part to an exisiting library...

The two that I found were for the mating connector at the following links:

    http://www.cadsoftusa.com/downloads/file/qseven.lbr

    http://www.cadsoftusa.com/downloads/file/qseven-yamaichi.lbr

These libraries are not mine, I just found them on that site, so I am not sure if they are good or not but I 'copied the Qseven.lbr

and then used  the pin spacing and board outline and changed that part to be the actualQ7 module and not the mating connector

for a carrier board as this qseven.lib library (in the link above) contains.
