How can I measure track lengths for differential pairs?

Former Member
Former Member over 12 years ago

Hi,

I've been using Eagle for a number of years now for a variety of circuits. I'm going to start on a couple of designs that need differential pairs. I understand the stackup and impedance calculations, how can I get Eagle to report the track net lengths so I can match pair lengths?

Currently use Eagle 5.11, might be tempted to upgrade if V6.x supports better analysis tools image

EAGLE 6 has direct support for routing differential pairs and can

automatically do the meandering for you. Unfortunately, the method is

not very intuitive, but it should work once you read the manual. Since I

haven't used the differential tool earnestly (but just testwise), I'm

not sure about its quality, but at least it's there, and you can test it

by just downloading version 6 for free, checking the manual for

'differential pair' and 'meander' and trying yourself.

I have downloaded and installed Eagle 6.5.0, will see how I get on with it. This will also help consider the upgrade from V5 to V6.

    Regards,
