Problem changing text ratio in library parts

Hi Eagle support.

I have designed a board in Eagle 4.16r2, and was about to send it for

manufacture when I spotted that my target manufacturer (Olimex) requires

all silkscreen lines to be at least 10 mils.

So I'm trying to update all my packages to use 10 mil lines.

Olimex recommended for text to use 50 mil size with a 20% ratio in order

to get the right line width.

The trouble I'm having is:

1. Clicking Change->Ratio opens a dialog, I type 20, Enter.

Then when I click on the existing text, it stays at 10%.

It seems that the only way to fix this is to delete the text and

re-enter it starting with the right width. Is this an Eagle bug?

2. Quite a few of my board symbols are smashed, so that I can move the

names to more convenient places. Unfortunately once smashed, it seems

the text cannot be updated to the right width when I follow step 1 above.

Please can you help, as it's currently driving me crazy!

Thanks.

Steve.

OK, quick update on this issue.

The ratio can be updated, but only if I also switch to vector font

instead of the default proportional one.

I have another self-inflicted problem now, as I was foolish enough to

use a ULP from Olimex to "fix" my silkscreen widths. This seems to have

simply cloned all lines / text in tNames, increasing the width in the

process. It also means that if I try to move a symbol (or change text

properties) that the cloned lines stay behind and litter the board!

I had convinced myself I had backed up the board before running the ULP,

but now I need it (a few days later) I can't find that backup.

Is there any way to purge my board of any lines / text that are not part

of a package? My hope is that by doing this, I'll be left with the

original package drawings and text, that I can then go back and fix

    manually (properly) in the libraries.

Ho hum, short-cuts never are, are they?

    Steve.
