Attributes improvements.

Hi,

Attributes is really powerful but sometimes, to define them can be painful, in particular when we had to copy an paste and paste and paste...

- For global attributes: we often have to copy from SCH to BRD. In 'New attribute' and 'Change attribute' dialog box, a little option like 'apply in schematic' (or board if edit from schematic), would be welcome. So If we change or add one attribute that must be the same in schematic and board, we don't have to do it twice.

I know, there is already a post about this point... but ARgggg that would be great...

- For devices attributes in library editor: This is the most annoying part. If a part have several package variant, it's really painful to edit attributes, in particular with attributes with same

value for all package variant. We must close the Attributes window, select the other package, then open again the attributes window.

The best thing will be  a little change in this attributes window, by adding a list of the package variants, in the left bottom corner (on the same line of the NEW, CHANGE DEL OK Cancel Buttons). When we open the attributes window, we can see and edit the attributes of the current package, but we could also see/edit the attributes of the other variant, just by selecting an other package in this list. It would be easier to check and edit the attributes, of ALL the device package variant at once.

And (in the same spirit of the suggestion for global attributes) adding a little option to apply to all package in the 'New attribute' and 'Change attribute' dialog box would be useful too.

for our standard attributes, we do this with a ULP, but yes, PLEASE: The

above suggestion would make things MUCH easier for the usual

    'non-programmer'.

Thank you for support on this !

I also made a script for my standards global attributes, so when I start a new board, I run it in Sch and in Brd. But when I start a new version of an existing board, I have to make some changes and script is not really helpful ( the time to create the script = time to do it).

For library, I known that some ulp already exist but, they don't necessary correspond to my needs, and you hae to remeber how to use them etc...They also do not let you have a global vision of your the attributes of all package variants. So for checking purposes, ulp doesn't help. Unless someone build a big huges ulp with a nice IHM... but the actual attribute windows is already done. It would be shame that someone spend much time to rebuild this windows since the few adjustment I suggested will be enough (I think).
