Cannot get pad names to display in package editor

autodeskguest
autodeskguest over 16 years ago

I'm having a problem with a copy of EAGLE V4.16 that I've used for the last

couple of years without problems.

In the last few days I've found that I can't get the pad names to display on

packages in the library editor! Both the SET PAD_NAMES ON command or the

Options -> Set->Misc->Display Pad Names menu pick check box have no effect.

If I transfer the library to another system in our office the pad names

display correctly, so I reckon it can't be the data in the library file

itself. Re-installing the EAGLE package doesn't help.

Is there a hidden layer I need to turn on, an .epf file or an registry entry

that's got corrupted somewhere?

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, using REDRAW command (or button) or

any other command that causes the image to refresh still doesn't cause the

    pad names to be displayed.

I don't think it is anything to do with the library files themselves as the

pad names don't display on packages in the libraries that are part of the

EAGLE distribution. The same libraries also work perfectly on another EAGLE

system  we have in the office. Uninstalling and reinstalling the EAGLE

package doesn't help either. Is there a registry entry or something that is

retained when EAGLE is reinstalled that may have become corrupted?

    Regards,

    Malcolm

Don't you see the pads names if you zoom further into the drawing?

Provided "Display pad names" is active in Options/Set/Misc and the

Pads layer or Top/Bottom layer for SMDs is displayed.
