Eagle 5.4.0 started crashing, Windows SP sp3

Eagle has started terminating, I have loaded no new programs or

drivers. I tried rolling windows back to when the system was stable.

Only Eagle is crashing, none of the other programs have this problem.

Has anyone else encountered this, and if so what can be done. I tried

re-installing but same problem. Although I did install into the same

directory and just overwrote the files.

  • After much grief I am back again.

     

    I reverted to my windows restore point of three weeks ago which was

    well before I installed Eagle 5.4.0... to make sure that the OS was

    solid then. I did not install any software and ran the system for

    several days doing a lot of intense CPU work with videos and audio;

    there wasn't a single problem. I also did not re-install Agent News

    Reader so was unable to post, thinking that maybe Agent was the

    problem.

     

    Today I re-installed Eagle 5.4.0 and it crashed on right clicking on

    an existing file in the 'open a file' dialog. I think there are

    problems with the file access interface. This is where I have seen it

    terminate before.

     

    Here is the question! Is there anyway to export my libraries or board

    and go back to Eagle 4.16r1? That was stable and I can get by without

    the new features for the present, but I can't get by with not getting

    the work done!!
