SD Slot??

Former Member
Former Member over 10 years ago

I am not sure if you can help me with this question or not but i just received the Rasberry pi B+ starter kit & i have put the pi into the case & see all the ports they explain on the "Getting Started Video" but i do not see a slot anywhere for the SD card? They said the card hold specific programs needed to boot the Pi. I am more than likely missing where it goes. Perhaps it is something that goes into my Personal pc slot or laptop? If you can help i would appreciate. Thanks

    The SD card slot should be on the underside of the board.

    you can see the back side of three different Raspberry Pi models. The

    right one is the "B" model. As you can see the "B" model supports only

    microSD cards.

    Best regards

    Hi Jessica,

    Check out the image guidoeagle links to, the board on the right is a B+ which has a micro sd slot. The starter kit comes with a 4GB micro SDHC card in it. About 15mm x 11m with a ''notch" at the bottom.   It also comes with a micro to full sized SD adapter (SD/SDHC/SDXC).

    The adapter lets you use the micro sd card in a full sized slot, like most PC's have.  Looking at the image, the board in the middle shows the adapter with a micro sd card inserted.  The notch at the bottom is used to remove it.

    Check yours, most likely you'll find the micro card hidden in the SD adapter.

    Walt

    Hello,

    @Admins

    I wrote my answer above (http://www.element14.com/community/message/135465/l/re-sd-slot#135465) via the newsgroup "eagle.support.eng" using Thunderbird 31.3.0. Unfortuantely this answer wasn't imported correct to the elemenc 14 forum here. All "+"-signs were killed. The synchronisation between the EAGLE newsgroups and the corresponding forums here is very bad. In my opinion it is very important to improve this. Otherwise EAGLE user will migrate more and more to other forums.

    Best regards

    Guido
