Drawings Added to tplace layer got moved

sailmike1
sailmike1 over 8 years ago

I'm making a prototyping board with 4 different kinds of LED's. When I rotated some of the parts, the drawings I added to the parts in the tplace layer got moved a bit. Will those show up on the board exactly as I see it in the board editor or will they show up as I see it in the parts editor? How do I fix this? Will it be a problem if I send it to the board house as it is?

Thanks,

The part in the upper picture is smashed, the one in the lower not.

So I assume you smashed the upper one and resized and moved the name

    and value texts.

I didn't smash anything. The plus and minus signs moved when I rotated the part.

on further examination of you pictures it seems that the + and - signs

    in your first picture either:

    1) do not belong to the part at all but are placed as separate texts

    or

    2) they are placed as texts in the package of the part and the part is

    smashed.

What happens when you move the part in the first picture?

Do the + and - signs move with it?

What happens when you try to move the + and - signs?

If its possible at all, do you get a dashed line connecting them to

    the parts origin?

Can you create a example board file that shows the behaviour and post

    it here?

I've added some before and after photos. In the first is the part before rotating one of them. The second is after rotating 180 degrees. You can see that the plus and minus signs shifted a bit. Rotating the part 180 degrees back to it's original position puts the plus and minus signs in the right place. I just learned what smashing the part means. I just tried that and it didn't work. The plus and minus signs were added to the tplace layer for the part in the library package editor. I created this board just for experimenting and illustrating the problem better.

Are you sure the plus and minus are in the tPlace layer?

I note that the plus and minus are a lighter colour than the body

outline of the diode. If both are in the tPlace layer they should look

    the same.

It would be a good idea to post the library so we can experience the

issue and determine if it is a bug or a user issue

The plus and minus signs are both in the tplace layer and, if there's any doubt, I've attached a photo with just the tplace and bplace layers showing in the library package editor. I tried changing the text to vector and fixed. They were originally in proportional format. I also tried changing the fonts to vector and fixed in the board editor. I updated the board after making the changes in the library package editor.

Solved the problem! I finally noticed that the ABC+ icons were showing up so I tried clicking on the move icon, then the part, and then the upside down ABC+ icon and that corrected the problem. Clicking on the information icon and then the part and checking the spin box fixes them.
