How does one place a label above a wire and not exactly on it ?

Hello.

When placing a label on a wire in schematic, the label is on the same grid as the wire, with no offset.

It's really tedious (to say the less) to have to move every label using an alternate grid or using the <info> tool.

Is there a way to have every label placed say 10 mils above the wire it is placed on ?

Hi Jacques

If I understand your need correctly, you are happy to dump the net LABEL on

the end of the wire initially but want a quick way to move them all up a

equal amount.

This technique groups all the net labels and moves them all together. You

can group as many as you need to move.

(1) Hide all the layers except the 'names' layer.

(2) Group all the labels. You can safely include the visible device names

as you select the Labels as they will not be included in the group because

they do not have origins.

(3) Display all the layers again. Easily done by typing DISPLAY LAST into

the command line

(4) Move the group the amount you need

The move will respond to your grid settings so set the alternate grid to

something sensible like 25mil
