Trying to identify connectors but failing

Former Member
Former Member over 10 years ago

I have two connectors that I need to source and I cannot figure out what they are or who makes them.

image

This one is an LVDS connector which mates to a small touchscreen. It has a 1mm pitch.

This one is a backlight connector for the same screen. It has a 1.4mm pitch. I cannot for the life of me find anyone who knows what they are. I've even given the cables in the hands of a cable manufacturer to take away and examine and I received a no quote from them.

Any ideas?

For laptop screens check hirose and molex product pages, they are likely candidates. At 1mm pitch the connectors are near impossible to crimp or even solder, without the correct tools (which cost many hundreds of dollars).

YEs, I jave contacted Molex and Hirose directly and provided them with these pictures. No luck.

crimp tools are only a couple hundred dollars, this isn't a hobbyist appllication.

There is usually a tiny logo on these plugs that can be identified. have

you got a cheap usb microscope you can look closer with? I would also

like to see a pic of the locking mechanism.

Have a look at molex. (Are you sure its not 1.25mm pitch? They look like

a picoblade) They do have some 1mm pitch for the pico-lock system, but

they seem to stop at 12 pins..

Or I would just google images for lcd lvds plug or connector and see

what pops up. Since this looks kinda low speed lvds, I'd try ebay as well.
