Eagle ULP change text

I'm not sure if this is the right place for Autodesk-Eagle ULP but....


I want to change the text of a TEXT field in BOARD.

But I'm sorry, I do not find how to do that.
I have to build a cmd string,which will be executed at exit(cmd) ???
How do I determine which text field should be changed with this cmd ( or on commandline in BOARD)?

I can loop through all text field - no problem. I can read the values - no problem.

but how to change a specific text field?


Can anybody help me please?

    I don't know the answer to your specific question, but I know how I'd work around it to achieve a similar result.

    The EAGLE board files are plain-text, no checksum or anything, so you could write code/script in any favorite language, to search-and-replace the relevant text.

    Thank you. That's an idea. But I need to copy the whole board to an other layout for production.
    I didn't know and didn't figure out on first hand how to address a text field.

            B.texts(T) {
                    if (T.value == FileAndExt ) {
                        text_change_counter++;
                        string tmpString = "";
                        sprintf(tmpString,"CHANGE TEXT %s (%f %f);\n",
                            FileAndExt, u2mil(T.x), u2mil(T.y));
                        cmd += tmpString;

    I go through the textfields on BOARD. When I find the proper field (BOARD file name ">DRAWING_NAME"), I get the x/y coordinates.
    These coordinates are now to address the textfield for e.g. CHANGE.
