Open Sch & Brd files together

k.portman
k.portman over 15 years ago

Is there a way to open an existing Sch & Brd file together, by default.

When I double click either Sch or Brd file name on the Eagle Control

Panel it asks "Do you also want to load xxx.brd?" (or xxx.sch). I always

respond Yes, sofar never had a need to respond No.

Is there a eaglerc.usr setting to force (or make as default behaviour)

the opening of Brd & Sch files together. If not, could it be

implemented. Much requested for!!!

Then you can set a view filter in Total Commander to see only the file

types you want to see. That's what you asked for, isn't it?

From a file manager I want to see all files. This for is a "file manager".

Or do you like to see only what make you happy (3 files shown, and 10k files

hidden, and then wander "where is the free space of the HDD?!")

But a full folder is a full foder no matter what file browser you use.

That's not the question, you suggested the Eagle Control Panel to show

a certain set of files, and that's what a good file manager already

    does.

    1. If you were not aware of this, Eagle Control Panel DOES show some pdf

files in tree. (It has a filter, but it's not so good in hiding pdf

    files...)

    2. what it's your opinion about files with arbitrary extension, files that

can be created with ulp's in project folder, and are perfectly visible from

    CP?!!!

    2. My concept is not "program oriented", but "project oriented"

    Where is the difference?

Realy do you consider there is no difference?

    3. and be honest... would you be bothered if Eagle could open pdf with

    external application?

    Yes.

Why? because it will know how to properly open a file that now it's

displayed in CP, and it's opened with integrated text editor?!

It is allready support writing pdf's....

So Eagle should also contain/support a Gerber Viewer, picture viewer

    etc?

A custom filter shoud satisfy everybody. Default operation should be: sch,

brd, lbr, scr, ulp displayed, other files not. User (like me) could add

extensions in eaglerc.usr files, so this files could be passed to OS to be

    opened.
