4-Layer setup script?

Oppie
Oppie over 10 years ago

I'm still plodding through the user manual. New design and first time doing

a 4-layer. Setting up all the necessary resources for a 4-layer with all

through vias. Was wondering if anybody might have a setup script that I

could review?

Been using the design rules

"eC_4Layer_PClass6_BaseCopperO18-I35_eCDefault.dru"

Set up used layers and some of the router options. Think I've almost got it

but wanted a reality check before going on.

TIA - Oppie

What might you recommend for the router settings?

Might you have a representative .ctl file to share here?

    Hi Oppie,

I hope you're doing well. You don't have to fiddle with the autorouter

settings when you add layers, the default cost factors usually work

    pretty well.

If you want to do via drops to GND or PWR with the autorouter then you

may want to check out the attached ctl file. This one is setup to make

the autorouter drop down to planes.

    hth,

    Jorge Garcia

Thanks Jorge. Will be looking into that. Still juggling a bunch of things.

Right now, I've been adding display aliases in BRD. I have all the new

aliases in a modified version of the mylayers.scr but find that new layers

are added to the end of the alias list in the brd editor. Would it be

correct to delete all the aliases and then run the script? One would think

that the aliases would then order as given in the script. If this is

correct, is there a command line way to delete all display aliases?
