I'm trying to import a copper layout that's been specified by the supplier
of a chip antenna. In the attached file "untitled.brd", the board outline
is imported from a dxf file without any problems. In the top right is the
dxf file for the layout that I want to place on top copper. I can import
the dxf, and move it to where I want it. The challenge is that I've only
got the outline...and can't figure a way to fill it.
I've considered manually drawing wires to trace the outline...but that
seems like a make work project...especially when the dxf design will likely
need to be tweaked through development. I've tried modifying the dxf file
to turn the line segments into polygons and then using
import_dxf_polygons_v4.ulp, but I literally get "nothing" when I use that
ULP.
I've also looked around to try and find a dxf to gerber converter to see if
I can then import gerbers. The apps that I could find are REALLY
expensive. No doubt these are great apps for organizations that regularly
manipulate gerbers...but they're beyond my reach.
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
JohnD
