Pin names not shown when   creating a device

Hi,

 

I am using EagleCAD 7.5.0.  I created a symbol and named all the pins.  I

also created package and named all the pads/pins corresponding to the pins

in the symbol.  When I attempt to create a device, only the names of pads

are shown and not shown in the pin column.  Because of that, I can't

connect the pins.

 

Please advise.

    First guess: HELP CONNECT

     

    Also note that PAD names and PIN names have nothing in common -

    Normally, the PADs are just numbered according to the standard of the

    package, while the PIN names reflect their meaning/function.

     

    You might have a look at existing libraries for examples.
