ulp status() that lasts after exit()

I'd like my ULP's to keep the status() message after exit, with a

natural timeout, so I can give soft feedback without any requester

blocking the UI.

 

Is there an option for this now? It seems like the status bar always

gets overwritten with an ulp "ULP finnished" message.

 

Suggestion to discuss:Maybe this finnished message can be skipped when

the ulp is launched from a hotkey or context menu?

    Hi Morten,

     

    I think the idea of a timeout is very reasonable, since it doesn't hog

    the status line forever.

     

    The tooltips for the various commands also use the status line so it

    might be good to limit it to something like 5 seconds or so.

    A timeout would work for me and likely very simple for the devs to

    implement so I'd be happy with that.
