    Hi Keith,

Oh goodie, a company providing their CAE data in a proprietary format which requires the purchase of another piece of software to make it useful.... That's not particularly helpful of them.

You may be lucky and find somebody with Ultra Librarian who it willing to do this for you, but it depends how long you can wait. I don't have this tool so can't help you with converting the BXL file myself.

It's a 144-ball part so not really a very big device, so it might just be easier to create it yourself. It's usually quicker in the long run anyway as you'd need to thoroughly check any part wherever you sourced it from. I do all my own, that way if there are any issues it's down to me. I check everything thoroughly and so far I haven't had any issues. Have you created parts in EAGLE before or are you unfamiliar with how to do so?

You can get a detailed package drawing for the part from the NXP website which includes the suggested PCB footprint details here: http://cache.freescale.com/files/shared/doc/package_info/98ASA00222D.pdf

    Best Regards,

    Rachael

    Hi

Ultra Librarian has been discussed on this forum previously.

I investigated it back then. The free version did  export the results of

the converted bxl but they were not impressive. There was quite a bit of

fixing you have to do so you had better know how to create library

devices so you can fix them.

Until the electronis industry agrees on an open descriptor of components

we will see proprietary binary formats like bxl(UltraLibrarian) trying

    to make a dollar.

So get the free version and see what you get.I believe it will export in

Eagle format, the conversion of a bxl. The limitations is using UltraLib

    to edit components --

    The free version IS exporting.

You need to select "Eagle" as the exporting tool. The result is a script

which can/must be imported to an eagle library. It can be found in:

    ultra liberian

    directory\library\exported\eagle\"today's_date"\"today's_date_library.scr".

As Warren already mentioned the result is not very impressive and it

must be edited in eagle but it might help to save a lot of typing.

UltraLibrarian is worth a try (the free version!).   I've had pretty good

luck with multiple IC vendor's bxl,  free ultralib, to Eagle.   As other

posters have said,  after running the script generated by ultralibrarian

you do need to do a little manual cleanup.   For high pin/pad count parts

    its still a time saver!

    Hi,

Here can you download the Ultra.Librarian exe.

    Kinetis Symbols, Footprints and Models|NXP

Well, install it. Then inport the bxl script and export it as eagle script file scr

(i did it for you; see attachments)

Then open Eagle, in the Panel open the Lib as "new lib".

Load the script file with the scr-Button.

Voilà  - then save it as MK66FX1M0VMD18.lbr file.

The work was just 5min to 10min (including: downloading and installing the exe file)

    Please check it bevor usage!!!!!

I did it without any guaranties!!!! as, as is.

    Edit:

I used the Eagle version 6.6.0 because compatibilities.

I have the version 7.7.0 too, but its for some users that don't have it.

    Hi Gerald,

I'm glad you put the work into generating the UltraLibrarian symbols and I am sure the OP will appreciate you taking the time too.

I've downloaded and looked at the library you generated and shows to me I was right and this tool isn't worth the money (ok in this case free just to export an existing BXL file!) if this is the quality of symbols that companies are pushing out using it. I'm sure some if it is down to the quality of what is put into it but to me the effort spent in checking and correcting other peoples symbols is almost never a time saver over just creating it yourself correctly in the first place even with fairly large symbols.

In this case those symbols are about as useful as a chocolate tea pot.... Two symbols with the IO pins labelled by BGA ball number..... Wow..... So really in this case it's probably about as much time to create a symbol like that from scratch as it took to run up UltraLibrarian and do the export process and import it into EAGLE.

    Best Regards,

    Rachael

I am fully in agreement with you. I create the symbols all myself directly from the data sheet of the manufacturers.

Well, that is relative. For fast drawing and prototyping development, it can be enough.
Again, I make the symbols themselves.

In sum, it always depends on details, eg. to adjacent additional parameters for the production, which must be considered.
These parameters can only be inserted in your own production.

    Best Regards

    Gerald

Not sure if it's still helpful for you or not but I also found the library for the MK66FX1M0VMD18 here by searching via Google. Unlike the other tool, this site appears to be almost entirely free and doesn't require any intermediary software. Hope that helps.
