EAGLE v8 Update Policy

Hi James,

Whenever a new update comes out, you will see a button in the control

panel to Update your EAGLE. If you don't click on that button you will

continue to use the same version of EAGLE until you click on the Update

button.

If you never hit that button, then you will never update. As long as you

keep paying the subscription you can continue to use that same version

of EAGLE and upgrade when you feel ready.

Hi Jorge, I saw in another thread your reply about the license text that

talks about having to remove old versions.

As long as were not using the licenses on more machines then originally

allowed and we are not expecting support for those older versions, I am

not sure I understand the rational for having to remove them.

I don't plan on migrating all my designs to V8. I also have copies of

eagle installed going all the way back to when I first started using

your product and still have some designs not migrated.

I think it needs to made clear in the license text that removal of old

versions only pertains to the versions offered for subscription. Even if

we obtain V8 through an "upgrade"

If I can't keep my paid for license of 7.7 around for perpetuity then I

can't see myself upgrading to or licensing a V8+ subscription.
