EAGLE v8 Update Policy

autodeskguest

Hello Autodesk Support,

Can you explain the nuances around updating policy?  If I'm using EAGLE

v8.0 and v8.1 comes out, am I forced to upgrade?  Can I use v8.0

indefinitely?

I absolutely don't want to be forced into an upgrade in the middle of a

design project.  I may choose to do so if the benefits outweigh the risks.

But no professional takes on CAD updates without a lot of thought and

testing to make sure there aren't unintended consequences of the upgrade.

I want to make sure I will maintain that control, even if that means never

upgrading to a particular version ever.

Cheers,

James.

    I am absolutely with you.

Another problem - In large companies there is usually an IT

which only releases a software after extensive examinations for

the users. Updates by the user are prevented or not allowed.

    Freundliche Grüße / Kind regards

I'm not sure where this concern has arisen from. It looks to me that so long as you keep paying your subscription your currently installed version will continue to work. I don't see anything that compels you to upgrade to a newer version when it comes out.
