EAGLE v8 Update Policy

Hello Autodesk Support,

Can you explain the nuances around updating policy?  If I'm using EAGLE

v8.0 and v8.1 comes out, am I forced to upgrade?  Can I use v8.0

indefinitely?

I absolutely don't want to be forced into an upgrade in the middle of a

design project.  I may choose to do so if the benefits outweigh the risks.

But no professional takes on CAD updates without a lot of thought and

testing to make sure there aren't unintended consequences of the upgrade.

I want to make sure I will maintain that control, even if that means never

upgrading to a particular version ever.

Cheers,

James.

    Hi James,

Whenever a new update comes out, you will see a button in the control

panel to Update your EAGLE. If you don't click on that button you will

continue to use the same version of EAGLE until you click on the Update

    button.

If you never hit that button, then you will never update. As long as you

keep paying the subscription you can continue to use that same version

of EAGLE and upgrade when you feel ready.

    Hope that clarifies things.

    Best Regards,

    Jorge Garcia
