How to Unlock components from the command line (or script).

dukepro
dukepro over 8 years ago

Eagle 7.7.0

It's clear how one can lock the position of components from the command

line:

    Lock LED1 LED2 LED3;

But what is not clear is to how to unlock it.  Thus far, I have tried:

    Lock -LED1      # Unkown element: -

    Lock S LED1     # Unknown element: S

    Lock (S) LED1   # Invalid point: (S) LED1

    Lock (S LED1)   # Invalid point: (S LED1)

What I'd like to see is:

    Unlock LED1 LED2 LED3;

Ideas? Suggestions?

Thanks for the help.

    - Chuck

    Hi There is another way. If the following is in the command line LOCK (S@) and then you position the mouse over the locked element and hit enter, the element is unlocked. @ means, 'at the current cursor…

    Hi Chuck, I'm not sure why GitLab isn't working for you, it seems to be fine for me. I can send you a copy of the repository, no problem. Do you still have the same email address? If so I can send you…

    Hi Chuck,

    You could use ULP and write an unlock function to retrieve the X and Y coordinates of each refdes passed as a parameter and then exit with LOCK (S X Y) for each one but I don't know of an existing command.

    Best Regards,

    Hi Chuck,

    I expect you've got this sorted now anyway but I've added another ULP to my library to create an unlock command. The usage is:

    RUN unlock LED1 LED2 LED3

    You can find the detail here if you would like it: EAGLE ULP Utilities Library

    There is a link to the GIT repository containing my library near the top, the usage instructions for all my released library utilities are documented on that page.

    Best Regards,

    Rachael

    Snip.....

    Ugggh, the Element14 -> NNTP bridge really mangled that one very badly,

    sorry about that....

    Good morning, Rachael,

    It's interesting that this thread has come back to life after over a

    year.  I still haven't found a native way of unlocking, and have to

    resort to writing a ULP.  I figured that your code would be a good place

    to start, but it turns out that gitlab.com isn't taking requests.

    Do you have another stash for your utilities?

    Thanks,

        - Chuck
