Plug-in for Eagle with component library of symbols and footprints

Hi All,

 

We recently wrote a free ULP (Alpha) for EAGLE that lets designers search for symbols and footprints available on SnapEDA from within EAGLE. Would be great to get your feedback on what features we should be adding to it next. The goal is to collect feedback and make it as useful and streamlined of a tool as possible. The gif below shows how it works.

  • I tried it, and it suffers from poor symbols and footprints. Here is what a basic op amp looked like:

    This is not what an op amp symbol should look like, and the footprint is faulty anyway - the silk screen has no identification for pin 1!

    Thanks for the feedback! I agree that it would be preferred to use a more standard symbol for the op amp in this case. 

     

    As for the pin 1 indicator, it is there once you download the part. The symbol/footprint viewer on the site renders the symbols/footprints on the web and in this case it isn't rendering the pin 1 indicator, so a better indicator is to actually download the part and look at the file. We're working on improving the renderer but we're prioritizing the actual CAD model quality itself and ways we can continue to expand our automated manufacturability checks.
