Cannot access Eagle library in schematic

Pedro147
Pedro147 over 8 years ago

I downloaded an Eagle library and placed it into the library folder of my Eagle 7.7.0 folder on C Drive.

I opened a new schematic, went to the Library > Use in the menu and selected this new library. It was available there but when I go to add it to the schematic it is not available.

What am I missing here please, as I do this all the time with new libraries that I make or modify and do not usually have any problems. Thanks.

Hi Rachael, I think that is he problem. Only the package is available not the device or symbol which is strange because I have both a sch and brd file that this library is used in. I exported the library…

Thanks Rachael, you prompted to go back and re-export that library. I had chosen the wrong option and consequently only exported the package without the symbol and device. Peter.

Did you activate your downloaded lbr file in the panel? - -> panel / lbr / xxxx.lbr (gray or green dot; green shows "active" )

If active you can find it in your schematic.

    Hi Peter,

Does that library open up in the library editor ok? I've had a corrupted lbr before which didn't show up.

    Best Regards,

    Rachael

    Hi Rachael,

I think that is he problem. Only the package is available not the device or symbol which is strange because I have both a sch and brd file that this library is used in. I exported the library from the brd file so I will try again.

Well at least I now know why, but need to find out how to fix it image
