power layers

I've tried for a week or so and cannot get the inner 2-3 layers to auto gen as power layers, I tried locating an example four layer board to no avail.

Does anyone have a "throwdown" example I could view. I have the standard edition.

I named layer 2 GND and layer three VCC33. The power nets in schematic are named like this. The layers 2 and 3 are selected as supply layers.

Have you tried doing it as a polygon? That's how I do ground planes (not needed a power one, but the principal would be the same).

Basically, make a polygon in the layer you need follow the shape of the board, and then tell it what signal to 'attach' to.

Bruce,

On the board, make sure you don't have your layer names prefixed with a '$' sign. If you double click at a layer from the Layer "Display" button, you will see a check box for supply layer. If it is checked then EAGLE automatically assigns a $ sign with the name.
