I have a couple of old projects in PADS, is there a conversion to Eagle?

Hi K,

there is one data format that comes into my mind. Do you have the possibility to export ACCEL-ASCII data? If
yes we could try to convert it into EAGLE with the help of a ULP which is currently developed. The ULP is not yet publicly available, but if you would likie to test it I could send it to you.

Basically EAGLE gives us all the tools to write import or export filters in order to exchange data to other layout tools. We offer the possibility to access to the whole EAGLE data structure via our User Language. So it is no problem to have an ULP for converting EAGLE data. If you would like to write a proper ULP for converting data from another layout tool into EAGLE you need a proper and full documetation of the data format.

By the way: There recently was a posting in one of the EAGLE newsgroups which addressed conversion services. I simply add it here (I am not affiliated with this company):

In many cases you may be selling the EAGLE tool into a group within a
company that already has other PCB Design tools and an existing PCB
Library of Parts.
Rather than create another Library from scratch in EAGLE, it would
benefit the customer to be able to Import the existing Part Library into

This could save weeks or months of time depending on the size of the
library. Conversely, the customer may have built several parts in EAGLE
and would like to Export them to the corporate Library which is a
different EDA/CAD tool.

Some companies have existing Design IP (Schematic and /or Board Design)
or have downloaded a Reference design that exists in another EDA/CAD
tool format and want to import that IP into EAGLE.
Others may have designed some IP using EAGLE and want to share it with
other groups or partners that have a different EDA/CAD tool.
