Merge board/schematic pairs

Hello,

I read this :

Merge board/schematic pairs using the PASTE function with full consistency

You can copy an already finished design consisting of a consistent pair of Schematic and Layout into another project. Enumeration of components and signals will be exactly the same in board and schematic, so that consistency between schematic and board will be maintained. This supports easy design, for example, of multi-channel devices. You only have to design schematic and layout for one channel and can copy it easily

I didn't find any explanation in the V6_manual_en.pdf

How can I do this : Merge board/schematic pairs ?

Best regards.

Pierre.

    Hello,

this can be done through the File/Import menu.

It is described in the manual: Please look into the section Merge Different Schematic Files in chapter 6.1.

    Best regards,

    Richard

    Thanks for your prompt response,

    I did't find ( edit/paste from ...)  menu or commande

I must use File/Import ; Eagle drawing ; then I have a new window " paste from file " . Is it the only way to proceed ?

    Manual chapter 6.1 ......

As an alternative to the Edit/Paste from... menu and typing the PASTE

command into the command line, it is possible to drag&drop a schematic or a

layout from the treeview's projects branch of the Control Panel into an opened

    Schematic or Layout Editor window.

It's missing that we must pressing the Ctrl key when dropping the file. ( when you want merge board/schematic pairs )

    Another question :

I have a finish schematic/board pair . For example a schematic/board pair with one preamplifier and one amplifier.

I want to add on the same board 3 copy of the preamplifier that is already on this pcb (copy and paste the existing preamplifier from Board).

How can I do that ?

    Best regards.

    Pierre

    Hi Pierre,

I suppose you are working with an EAGLE 6.3.x or 6.4.0? This function has moved into the File/Import... menu. Choose EAGLE drawing there..

    Regards,

    Richard
