The element14 Arduino CadSoft Library (Rev C)

image

We are pleased to offer our very own CadSoft library for Arduino--for free!  Our new library simplifies Arduino shield development by placing the most-popular Arduino pinouts right at your fingertips.  The latest version includes these boards: 101, Uno, Nano, Mini, Micro, Mega2560, Lilypad, Leonardo, Ethernet, and Due

Hi Andrew- This library references the MEGA2560. I think it could be labeled better, so I'll add that change to the next library revision. There are a few differences between the two on the pin headers…

Hi Andy- This library has the Due, Ethernet, Leonardo, Lilypad, Mega, Micro, Mini, Nano, and Uno boards. Thanks for asking about the Micro Pro - it helps for determining which ones would be useful to add…

Having problems using these libraries in the free version of Eagle V7.2.

Are these restricted to purchased versions of Eagle or am I doing something wrong.

Perfect! I'll try that tomorrow. And thanks for the Arduino Eagle library!

You mean replace the existing device in your current schematic/board files (since you've probably got the rest of the design partially complete)? Yes, I've found the easiest way to update a part is to go in the schematic editor and try to add another device (i.e. like you want to have 2 MEGA boards on your board). Just before it allows you to place it, it asks if you'd like to update all of the instances of the device in your design, which you can say 'YES' to.  It will then update the schematic and board with the new version of the device from the library. Then when it lets you place the second component instance, just don't place it anywhere (hit escape).

You can also update the library or all libraries in a schematic by going to the Library menu > Update (or update all) and select what you want updated. I usually prefer not to do this in case someone else has been fiddling with the library unexpectedly (Or I fiddled with it for another project and forgot).

    Good luck!

thanks for the advice. Is it possible to replace the existing device with the one i edited afterwards?
