New feature is 1.5 - Can't export BOM's to Excel

i can no longer export BOM's in excel format. If i use the template I used to use in xlsx format CS now cannot work with this. having converted my template to XLT excel cannot handle the output from CS. So new version and MORE bugs.

 

Where do I send my invoice for the time I am wasting on this software? some of us have businesses to run!

    XLSX BOM created through an XLT template works for me in 1.5.1

    It even refuses to work with a their own template, the BOM export is a mess. I have tried reinstalling but this has put me back to 1.41 and this too suffers from the problem. I have this now on two computers so it is not machine specific. What data CS attempts to put into an excel file is too corrupt for excel to use so basically altium need to pull their fingers out of their arses and produce a bug fix that will apply to 1.41 because I don't see why I should be paying a maintenance licence for the fixing of basic functionality.

     

    I will have to use csv format that cannot be directly used by excel as it converts wurth electronic electrolytic capacitor part numbers into floating point thus destroying the data. The only way around this is to start a new spreadsheet and import the csv data.

     

    Perhaps it's time microsoft buy out altium. while they generally ruin anything they buy I can't possibly see how you can make CS any worse - ok you could but really this is ridiculous. I have wasted 3 hours on this.

     

    I am not allowed to attach the file format for excel templates. The template was derived from one of theirs and has worked fine in the past.

    Hmmm, may there is something in the project which is upsetting the export.

    Right click on those cells, select Format > "Text"
