changing layers while routing in circuit studio 1.5

Question

Working in Circuit Studio 1.5. Perhaps I'm doing this wrong. When I start interactive routing on layer 1, I the hit the tab key and I get a popup window with options. There is a drop menu where I select layer 2. I would expect that would be the way to switch the routing trace between layers while routing (a via would automatically be created). When I return to routing, the tracks are still being routed on layer 1. No via. How do I change layers while routing?

While routing, hold CTRL + SHIFT and use the scroll wheel to cycle through your layers. It will automatically place your default via size. Takes some practice in order to feel comfortable doing it.

To change your default via size, select via by pressing 'V' on your keyboard or select Via from the Home tab. Now press TAB. Change all of the settings of your via here. It defaults to your new settings when you press 'OK'.
