Circuit Studio 1.3.0 outputting gerbers

Hi,

I'm using Circuit Studio 1.3.0 and when outputting gerbers the selected "mechanical layer to include on all layers" isn't getting added to any layers. I've tried a board outline on Mechanical 1 and Mechanical 2 and this is not being applied when the Gerbers are generated. Is this a known issue?

    Hi,

    I've submitted my project over a month ago now to recreate the problem and have heard nothing. I've had nothing from my last email direct to Farnell over a week ago. I would like some information - I have a board waiting for manufacture. I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with the support this product this product is getting from Farnell/Altium - this is WAY BELOW what I have previously experienced from both companies.

    Our most sincere apologies on the delay, this is unacceptable on PF's / Altium's part and is a rare mistake.   We're committed to responding to all support inquires in 24-48 hours.

     

    The problem is that the tracks on the mechanical layers have the Keepout checkbox enabled. This checkbox is only for "layer specific" keepouts, so that the keepout effect only happens on that particular layer. When this feature is used, it deliberately suppresses the output of the track from the Gerber outputs.

     

    Screen capture, uncheck the Keepout option:

    To use keepouts in the regular way, place the tracks on the layer called Keepout Layer and don't enable the Keepout checkbox.

     

    Notice in the second screen capture, the thin purple line around the horizontal track. That indicates layer specific keepout. I unchecked this for the vertical track. The left hand side shows it appearing on all layers in the Gerber file (only one layer is displayed in the Gerber screen capture).

  • you don't really want to include the outline on all the gerber layers anyway, i know many do but they just need to get removed by the fabricator lest they leave copper hairs around the outline, just provide the outline on its own layer and you will save them some work, and put only the outline on the outline layer, registration is done by other means

    why is it you want to include that ?

     

    however something slightly useful on all layers might be a title block or part number but that will be also one of the first things to go when they make the working films
