    Hi,

just wondering have you come acros this article  http://www.techonline.com/learning/techpaper/220301083 ?

Is mentioned that Microchip nano XLP might not be having the lowest sleep current in some situation. Do give me your thoughts.

But of cos correct me if I am wrong.

    Cheers

    Edmund

    Dear Sir,
I would like to ask if there is available p.s.
    The Power supply spec:
    1. Input voltage: universal input or two ranges of input.
    2. Output constant current: 400mAmp.
    3. Output Voltage: 48vDC
    4. Ultra high efficiency around 95% @ full load - most important.
    5. Max mechanical Dimensions: [L x W x H] : 28cm x 1.2cm x 0.8cm
      resistance Load .
It is preffered to implement by Microcontroler like Microchip in order to use PWM at the output and remote PWM adjusting.
The microchip suppose to set 0 - 100% by PWM

    Thank you and Best Regards
    Yehuda Ortal

Unfortunately Microchip do not manufacture these sort of devices , yes we could offer a small MCU and our MCP1630 to provide a regulated output but we have no solution to dropping from main voltage . Hope this helps ?

You are going to struggle with this:

Your spec requires a mains input 19.2W, 48V output supply with 95% efficiency and in a volume of 26.88cc with a very unfortunate shape.

Farnell have an XP Power part giving 25W a 85% efficiency (Part number 1580485) but the volume is 84cc. They have an open frame version (1580478) where you can see all the parts.

To meet your spec you will need to improve efficiency and get down to about 1/3 of the volume of a commercially availble part - it may be possible but it won't be cheap !!!

May I suggest you go back one step and tell us what you are trying to do - perhaps a bit of lateral thinking may help solve your problem.

    Hi,

    Not sure whoom to ask.

We ordered one of My Passport Essential Ultra-portable hard drives (320GB) for one of our Mac computers. However this hard drive was not working and after scientist complained we tried to run test this on PC. However our PC cannot recognize the hardware and sometimes won’t even react when we plug in the Hard drive. I’m testing it now. The light appears to switch on and there is movements in the case but no pop up window or any message that HD was connected to computer. I was looking for driver on the internet but I can not find any. I was thinking if this might be error in firmware. Is there any link I could try to update it?

    Many thanks,
    Michal

    Hi,

I believe this WD external drive is not Mac compatible.  You may need their newest version that is.

Here is the website for details: http://www.wdc.com/en/

Hello, I would like to ask about USB OTG Full Speed Host and High Speed Peripheral Controller Evaluation Board. As all know, the function of USB OTG is to convert the client function to be host function. Let say I am about to use the evaluation board of the USB OTG which is EV-OXU210 Evaluation Board, can it directly convert the function of client to host as I plug the PDA through this evaluation board? Thank you.

    Hi,

I am considering a DSPic for a grid tied inverter. The inverter has a 400VDC input (input source solar DC/DC converter). Is the DSPic ever used for such an application? I know it has been used for AC induction motor control and AC/DC power supplies. My application will be a mix of both application. Grid Inverters have similar control loops (park - clark vector transformations) as motors and same circuits (full bridge) as power supplies. If anyone has information on the use of DSPic for these devices please share.

    Best regards,

    Enrico Migchels

    Hi Enrico,

There are 2 keys application targets in dsPIC30/33 families :

    * MOTOR control (references with "MC" at the end like DSPIC33FJ256MC710A-I/PF.DSPIC33FJ256MC710A-I/PF. : http://www.microchip.com/dscMOTOR

    * SMPS & energy conversion (references with "GS" at the end like  dsPIC33FJ64GS610 http://www.microchip.com/SMPS  . On this previous link you should find the information you're looking for.

There are several applications notes showing implementation of Parke & Clarke transformation (Vector control).

I recommend the use of dsPIC33 family which is more powerful (40MIPS) than dsPIC30 and especially some devices have on-chip DMA which reduces CPU load as peripheral read / write dual PORT RAM without CPU assistance.

You may also want to ask precise questions on Microchip dsPIC dedicated forums : http://www.microchip.com/forums/tt.aspx?forumid=178

    regards
